Wilson hits first half golazo as @MSUWSoc comes up short

THE RUNDOWN
PUEBLO, Colo. – After showing a flair for the dramatic in the first two matches of the season, Midwestern State needed a little more magic against Colorado State-Pueblo on the road Friday.

Unfortunately for the Mustangs, that magic didn't show in the second half of a 3-1 loss to the Thunderwolves at the Rawlings Sports Complex.

Sophomore Micah Wilson hit her first career goal, a free kick with two seconds remaining in the first half to even the match at one-apiece, but a pair of second half goals were too much to overcome.

Kylee Sakaguchi broke the scoring seal late in the first half. With just under three minutes to go before the intermission, Sakaguchi collected a rebound from in front of the net off a mad scramble and beat keeper Samantha Upton to stake the Thunderwolves a 1-0 lead.

Cara Siegel regained the lead for CSU-Pueblo in the 61st-minute off a rebound going inside the left post and Karley Whiteman drilled a penalty kick following a foul in the box at the 77-minute mark to stretch the lead to 3-1.

CSUP keeper Rylie Martin made two saves to give the Thunderwolves the win.
