WICHITA FALLS, Texas – In the first ever ranked meeting between No. 1 Midwestern State and No. 11 St. Mary's, junior
Gui Leme and the Mustangs proved the Rattlers were all rattle and no bite in a 3-1 decision over the squad from San Antonio.
Leme netted a pair of goals for the second-straight match as the Maroon and Gold peppered Gerard Roebuck all night between the pipes, firing 13 shots on frame.
The MSU Texas back line was once again dominant, limiting the Rattlers to four shots on goal with the lone point coming on a penalty kick in the 57
th-minute.

Sergio Lara put the Mustangs on top in the seventh minute. Junior
Juan Alvarez fed
Dylan Burke in the left wing who found a streaking Lara over the left post from six yards out, splitting two defenders in the process.
MSU Texas extended the lead to 2-0 before the intermission on Leme's fourth goal of the year. Senior
Kristian Martinez headed the ball to Leme off a free kick in the 33
rd minute. The Sao Paulo native fired, collected his rebound off the deflection and scored on a bicycle kick from five yards out.
Leme put the finishing touches on the Mustang's sixth-straight win in the 78
th minute. Junior
Juan Ramirez crossed the ball into Leme from the right wing, who converted his fourth goal in the last two outings in the process.
Redshirt sophomore
Taylor Lampe made three saves in the win, improving to 16-0-2 in two seasons in the Maroon and Gold.
The Mustangs improved to 26-0-3 over the last 29 matches, dating back to the 2016 season and a perfect 6-0-0 in 2018. Equally as impressive MSU Texas improved to 30-0-0 all-time against St. Mary's.

- Midwestern State extended its unbeaten streak to 29-consecutive matches with the 3-1 win over Newman in Heartland play
- Thursday marked the sixth time during the streak the Mustangs put their unbeaten streak on the line against a ranked opponent. MSU Texas is 6-0-0, outscoring opponents 12-2.
