Earning the South Central Region's top-seed, Midwestern State faces off with the Roadrunners for the second time this season and first time in postseason play. Monday's winner advances to Round of 16 set for May 9-12 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.

MUSTANGS IN THE POSTSEASON: The Mustangs make their 16th overall and sixth consecutive postseason appearance in 21 years as an NCAA Division II member. MSU advanced to the national tournament site on seven occasions including four national quarterfinal showings (2006, 2013, 2014, 2016). Midwestern hosts its fifth NCAA Tournament match in the last six seasons and is 4-1 all time on its home courts.

VICTORIOUS VAS: Senior Vasudev Vijayaraman has posted a 16-9 record on the season, all at the No. 1 flight. The Chennai, India, native leads the team with seven wins on the year against nationally-ranked foes.

GUARDIAN ANGEL: Sophomore Angel Palacios posted the second-longest winning streak in program history, winning 15-straight from Feb. 16-March 30. Over that stretch, the sophomore was only pushed to three sets twice before suffering his first D2 loss of the season. Between singles and doubles, Palacios owns a combined 40-record on the season while his career .708 winning percentage in singles ranks eighth all-time.

FRESHMAN TRIO: Freshman Alex Martinez Roca (19-4), Nolan McCaig (15-6) and Jean Muniz (15-5) combine for 49 wins at the No. 4-6 flights. Primarily playing No. 4, McCaig owns a 9-record at No. 4 while Muniz sits at 9-1 at No. 5. Roca has built a perfect 9-0 mark at No. 6.

DOMINATING DOUBLES: The Mustangs have been dominant in doubles all season. Of the 25 matches played, MSU has picked up at least two wins in 20 matches, including sweeping the doubles competition on nine occasions. The tandem of Alex Martinez Roca and Angel Palacios lead the squad with a 19-record at the No. 3 line.
