WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State faces both the defending NCAA Division II champions and the runner-up this season at Memorial Stadium.
The Mustangs released a 10-game slate which features six home games highlighted by a pair non-conference home matchups beginning with Humboldt State (Calif.) on Sept. 1 with West Florida arriving on Sept. 8.
MSU dealt Humboldt State its only regular season loss back in 2015 with a 35-10 win over the then-No. 10 Jacks. It's the only meeting between the programs.
Midwestern and West Florida were scheduled to play last season, but the threat of Hurricane Irma led to a statewide shuttering of all schools, colleges, universities and state offices.
West Florida posted a 7-3 mark in the regular season before reeling off victories over No. 16 Wingate (N.C.), West Georgia, No. 17 West Alabama and No. 3 Indiana (Pa.) before falling in the national championship game to Texas A&M-Commerce.
The Mustangs welcome the same Lions back to Memorial Stadium on Oct. 6th. It's same site where MSU held on for a 47-42 win last season before going on to win its first outright Lone Star Conference title since 2011.
MSU's home slate also features games against Angelo State on Sept. 22, Tarleton State on Oct. 27 and West Texas A&M on Nov. 10.
The Mustangs hit the road four times this fall with games at UT Permian Basin on Sept. 15, Eastern New Mexico on Sept. 29, Texas A&M-Kingsville on Oct. 13 and Western New Mexico on Nov. 3.
The Mustangs posted their 18th consecutive winning season in 2017 while advancing to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the eighth time in program history with a 10-1 record.
All games broadcast live on ESPN 95.5 FM -- The Falls Sports Authority. Each home game streams also streams live via a video pay-per-view on the Mustangs Digital Network at MSUMustangs.tv.
