LET'S GET IT STARTED: 23
rd-ranked Midwestern State begins regular season competition against Collin County Community College on Friday at the MSU Tennis Center. The Mustangs are coming off a trio of exhibition matches earlier this spring and return five players from last season's squad that made its fifth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

CALLING ALL ANGELS: Sophomore
Angel Palacios returns after earning the LSC Freshman of the Year honors with a 14-10 overall record in singles and a 13-12 mark in doubles action. Palacios earned All-Conference honors with 3-1 record at the No. 1 singles line and an 8-8 mark at No. 2. In doubles, the Everman HS product went 11-9 at the No. 2 line. The sophomore has gone 1-0 in exhibition singles matches this spring.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: Junior
Dillon Pineda garnered All-Conference Doubles honors after going 13-9 overall and 11-6 at the No. 1 line in pairs play. In singles, the Allen product went 12-9 overall and a perfect 3-0 in LSC action. With a 27-15 career singles record and a 30-20 mark in doubles, Pineda leads all returners in career wins. The junior's .643 singles winning percentage ranks 13
th all-time in MSU history. In exhibition matches this spring, Pineda's posted a 1-1 record in singles and a 1-0 mark in doubles.

COUGARS PRESENT STRONG JUCO CHALLENGE: The eighth-ranked Cougars are coming off a 10-8 campaign last season and finished the year with an identical No. 8 ranking. CC features six sophomores paired with five freshman. Sophomore Akinori Wada, ranked No. 19 in the Oracle/ITA NJCAA Men's National Singles Rankings, looks to build off an 11-8 campaign in 2017, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Southwest JUCO Championships. In doubles, he and sophomore James Corns boast a No. 9 ranking after the fall.

UTA THIRD DI PROGRAM FACED BY MUSTANGS: UT Arlington enters the matchup with a 2-1 record after picking up wins against Cameron and Seminole State earlier this spring after a 14-9 campaign in 2017. Junior Guanarteme Nuez leads the Mavs with a 2-0 record in singles at the No. 1 line while junior Mauricio Del Rio returns after going 13-6 a year ago.
