WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

MUSTANGS IN LSC POSTSEASON TOURNAMENT: Midwestern State has clinched a berth in the LSC Postseason Tournament which runs from March 2-4 at the Dr Pepper Center in Frisco, Texas. The Mustangs, who currently rank seventh in the LSC standings, are the No. 6 seed with a win over Cameron on Tuesday AND if Eastern New Mexico wins twice on the road this week at Angelo State on Thursday and at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday. MSU slips to the No. 8 seed with a loss to Cameron AND with two Eastern New Mexico victories. The Mustangs are the No. 7 seed in all other scenarios.

MR. BUCKETS: Midwestern State senior Brandon Neel erupted for a career-high 32 points in Thursday's 89-74 win at Eastern New Mexico. He connected on 6-of-8 shots from the arc to score the most points for MSU since Kevin Grayer went for 33 points against Texas A&M-Commerce in the 2013 Lone Star Conference Tournament. Neel has scored in double figures in each of his last 19 games and notched at least 20 points 10 times this season. It was his second 30-point performance of the season – 30 vs. Western State (Colo.). During the 18-game run, Neel is averaging 19.7 points per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and has knocked down 69-of-101 (68.3 percent) from the charity stripe. The Cincinnati, Ohio native has worked his way up to third on the LSC scoring chart at 18.9 points per game.

PULLUM POINTS THE DIRECTION: Midwestern State senior guard Devante Pullum poured in at least 20 points for the fifth time this season going for 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting with three 3-pointers Saturday at Western New Mexico. The Little Elm native buried a game-tying 3-pointer with 17.1 seconds to go, but it wasn't enough to overcome WNMU. Pullum ranks eighth in the Lone Star Conference pouring in 15.4 points ranking fifth with 4.6 assists per game. He is shooting 42.9 percent from the field (87-of-203) and 37.2 percent from the arc (29-of-78). Pullum has knocked down 28 of his last 30 free throws (93.3 percent) over his last 10 games and is leading the LSC at 86.2 percent for the season.

AGGIES BECOMING A THORN: Cameron claimed consecutive wins against Midwestern State at D.L. Ligon Coliseum for the first time since the building was completed prior to the 1967-68 season. CU claimed an 80-75 win on Jan. 30, 2016 then another by an 83-74 count last season. The Mustangs won the previous 17 meetings played at Gerald Stockton Court dating back to the 1991-92 season. Cameron's last loss at D.L. Ligon Coliseum came to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) by a score of 84-78 in overtime on Nov. 19, 2016 as part of the Patterson Auto Center Classic.

HE IS DEFINITELY VARSITY CALIBER: Cameron junior point guard J.V. Long leads the Aggies in scoring (11.7 ppg) and assists per game (4.0) while pulling down 4.2 rebounds. The graduate of Mansfield Timberview High has scored in double figures 16 times this season including four 20-point efforts since the start of Lone Star Conference play. For his career, Long has played a major role in CU's four wins over Midwestern State. In the four victories, he averages 16 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists including 20-point efforts in each of the last two meetings. Long has been limited to an average of 9.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in a pair of losses to the Mustangs.
