WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State pulled off its largest upset since the 2014-15 season, taking down No. 21 St. Mary's 51-35 on Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The Mustangs held the Rattlers to 23.3 percent shooting from the field with 10 rejections, the second-most single game blocks in program history.
MSU Texas improves to 2-5 on the season while No. 21 St. Mary's moves to 8-2.
The Maroon and Gold earned their first win over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 3 West Texas A&M 77-64 on Jan. 7, 2015 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
Senior
Anni Scholl connected on three 3-point attempts and grabbed five rebounds while junior
Mica Schneider added nine points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals to pace the offensive.
Junior
Erin Alexander grabbed a season high 12 rebounds and three blocks while scoring four points.
The Mustangs finished strong on the defense end holding St. Mary's to 1-of-14 shooting in the fourth period as the Rattlers were unable to successfully convert a field goal attempt over the final 5:51 of the contest.
Banks and Kaitlin Walla led the way for the Rattlers with eight points, combining to go 6-of-31 from the floor and 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.

- Midwestern State knocked off its first ranked opponent since defeating No. 3 West Texas A&M 77-64 on Jan. 7, 2015 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- MSU Texas recorded the second-most blocks in program history with 10 rejections, one behind the team-record of 11 set against Western New Mexico on Jan. 11, 2018.
- The 35 points by the Rattlers were the fewest the Mustangs have allowed since holding Hillsdale Baptist to 26 on Nov. 22, 2010.
- The scoring output was the lowest of any Jason Martens coach St. Mary's team and was the lowest since the Rattlers managed 34 points in a 53-34 loss at Angelo State on Dec. 16, 2003.
