THE RUNDOWN
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Junior Mica Schneider recorded her first career double-double, coming one assist shy of the all-time program record with 12 helpers as Midwestern State triumphed over UT Tyler, 95-36, on Wednesday evening at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The Mustangs (3-5) shared the wealth across the board, breaking the program record with 32 assists in the 59-point romp. Four players scored in double figures, including double-doubles from Schneider and Liz Cathcart (17 points/11 rebounds), but Schneider stole the show orchestrating the offense.

The Boerne native handed out seven dimes in the second quarter alone as the Maroon and Gold built a 47-19 halftime lead.

The Mustangs held the Patriots to a meager 21 percent shooting in the first half (6-of-29) to build a 28-point advantage going into the break. MSU Texas limited UTT to an 0-10 start from the field in the second quarter on a 19-1 run.

The dominance by the Maroon and Gold didn't just come on the scoreboard. MSU Texas held a 20-point advantage in rebounds and roughed up UT Tyler inside with a 56-6 advantage in the paint.

MSU Texas held its second-straight opponent to under 40-points after keeping 21st-ranked St. Mary's to 35 in Saturday's win. Over the last two contests, opponents are shooting just 21.6 percent against the Maroon and Gold, facing 19 blocks.
