Bocquet scores hat trick, No. 4 @MSUMustangsFC roll to 4-0 win over Rattlers

THE RUNDOWN
SAN ANTONIO – Senior Pierre Bocquet's hat trick and seven-point performance carried fourth-ranked Midwestern State to its third 10-0 start in program history Saturday afternoon following a 4-0 rout of St. Mary's (Texas) at Sigma Beta Chi Field.

Bocquet became just the sixth player since 2000 to record at least seven points in a game to tie for the second most in school history. The Montreuil-sur-Mer, France native's hat trick was the first multiple-goal performance of his career and the first hat trick for a Mustang this season.

Midwestern State (10-0, 6-0 HC) struck just 7:12 into the contest with Bocquet tallying a goal off a free kick with assists from Scott Doney and Sebastian Venegas.
In the 23rd minute, Bocquet lifted the Mustangs to a 2-0 advantage with a strike from eight yards out off assists from Doney and Carlos Flores.

Alex Dimitriu added to the MSU lead 10 minutes into the second half with a shot from the right side to the far post for his first career goal off a Bocquet assist.

Bocquet completed the hat trick at the 71:26 mark with a strike from 10 yards out off an assist from Hugo Gesualdo for the 4-0 final.

The Mustangs finished with a season-high 11 shots on goal in 21 attempts. The MSU defense limited St. Mary's (5-4-1, 3-3 HC) to just three shots on frame, holding an opponent to three or fewer shots on goal for the sixth time this season en route to their seventh clean sheet.
