WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Raven Powell's first career goal in the 40th minute propelled Midwestern State to a 1-0 shutout victory over Regis (Colo.) in the season opener Friday evening at Stang Park.

Regis (0-1) put pressure on the Midwestern State back line throughout the contest with seven shots on goal in 12 attempts compared to MSU's three shots. However, the Mustangs held strong with keeper
Courtney Burnette collecting all seven shots that were fired between the posts to extend upon her school shutout record with her 24th clean sheet.
