- Following a two-week road swing, Midwestern State returns home to Stang Park beginning Thursday for a pair of meetings with Heartland Conference North Division foes in Rogers State (Okla.) and Newman (Kan.)
- The reigning Heartland Conference Champions opened up league play last weekend on the road, taking down two long-time rivals in West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico to move to 6-0 on the season
- MSU began the week by coming out on top in a 1-0 overtime thriller against the Buffs with Scott Doney scoring in the 95th minute off an Alex Mullet throw in to propel the Mustangs to their ninth-straight win over West Texas A&M
- Midwestern followed up Saturday with its fifth shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory over Eastern with Koby Sapon-Amoah, Pierre Bocquet, Carlos Flores and Sebastian Venegas netting goals for the Maroon and Gold in the win
- Senior goalkeeper Richard Goss was tabbed the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday after collecting two shutouts to move to 5-0 on the season
- After a third consecutive undefeated week, Midwestern State jumped back up two spots to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II national poll Tuesday
- On the season, the Mustangs back line was been one of the most impressive through three weeks of play with a 0.17 goals against average and 0.83 shutout percentage to rank third nationally
- MSU has also been productive in the attacking third this season, ranking 25th in the country with 2.5 goals per game
- In the individual national rankings, Scott Doney comes in second in the country with three game-winning goals this season while Richard Goss has climbed to fourth in the nation in goals against average (.222) and save percentage (.947)
- Rogers State comes into Stang Park on a four-game win streak for a 5-1 season start and 2-0 record in league play to sit atop the conference standings with MSU and St. Edward's
- Sophomore Jordan Watson and freshman Jaxon Pitt have each scored two goals to lead the RSU offense
- Newman will take on Oklahoma Christian before facing the Mustangs Saturday, sitting at 2-3-1 overall and 0-2 in conference play
- Senior Jamie Barkway paces the Jets with four goals and two game winners on the year
