STEPHENVILLE, Texas – A walk-off single for Marisa Flores in the bottom of the seventh lifted Tarleton State to a series win over Midwestern State Saturday afternoon as the TexAnns took two of three games in the Mustangs' final series of the 2017 season.

GAME 1 RECAP
Kaitlyn Thomas went 3-for-3 at the plate while Haley Freyman tossed a shutout in the circle to lead Tarleton State to a 2-0 victory in the series opener Saturday.
 
Play was halted in the fifth inning of the series opener Friday evening due to weather, forcing teams to resume play early this afternoon.
 
Tarleton State (31-18, 14-11 LSC) struck in the second inning, plating a pair of unearned runs off an infield error by Midwestern State (18-26, 9-19 LSC).
 
GAME 1 NOTES
- Lauren Lindgren and Kelsey Knox each totaled two hits to lead MSU
- Erin Knox suffered the loss, allowing six hits and one walk

GAME 2 RECAP
Lauren Lindgren, Taylor Mordecai and Amanda Thomas each belted out two hits to pace Midwestern State to a 4-1 win in the second game of the series.
 
The Mustangs went in front in the second inning with Jennifer Quintero recording the third-straight single in the frame for MSU to plate Thomas for a 1-0 lead. Lindgren followed in the next at-bat with a single to right center to bring home Hannah Springs for the 2-0 edge.
 
Tarleton State (31-19, 14-12 LSC) scored its third run of the series off a Midwestern State (19-26, 10-19 LSC) error in the third to cut its deficit in half.
 
The tables turned in the fifth inning as Erin Knox came home on a TSU infield error after earning a one-out walk. MSU stretched its lead to 4-1 in the seventh with Thomas doubling to right center to score Carli Woolsey.
 
GAME 2 NOTES
- In addition to her team-best two hits, Amanda Thomas added a run, walk and RBI
- Four different Mustangs scored runs in the win 
- Peyton Helton allowed no earned runs to record her eighth win of the season

GAME 3 RECAP
A Maddie Quintanar single and sac bunt for Kaitlyn Thomas led to a game-winning hit for Marisa Flores in the bottom of the seventh in a 1-0 shutout victory for Tarleton State in the finale.
 
In the circle, Jordan Withrow limited Midwestern State (19-27, 10-20 LSC) to just two hits for the game in a double for Lauren Lindgren in the second and an Amanda Thomas single in the seventh.
 
Tarleton State (32-19, 15-12 LSC) threatened several times before scoring the go-ahead run in the seventh, leaving two in scoring position in the fifth while stranding a runner at third in the second.
 
GAME 3 NOTES
- The Mustangs totaled four baserunners with hits for Lauren Lindgren and Amanda Thomas and a pair of walks for Taylor Mordecai
- Erin Knox allowed just two hits in 4.0 innings of work while Peyton Helton was saddled with the loss in 2.1 innings in the circle
- Marisa Flores went 3-for-4 to lead Tarleton
