Amanda Thomas

Amanda Thomas begins her fourt season as an assistant coach with Midwestern State in 2021-22.

With the team returning after almost a year hiatus, they collected a six game win-streak starting with a 4-2 win over William Jewell (Mo.) and ending with a 10-2 rout of Western New Mexico. The Mustangs concluded the season with back-to-back wins over Texas Woman's.

In an abbreviated 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thomas helped outfielder Lauren Lindgren earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Lindgren became just the second softball player in school history to earn first team honors, joining Lauren Craig, who earned the distinction in 2010.

The Mustangs posted their highest winning percentage in five seasons during the 2019 campaign, going 22-19 and finishing seventh in the Lone Star Conference. Additionally the Maroon and Gold's 17-2 record at home marked the best home winning percentage in team history.

Thomas helped Lindgren to Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors while infielder Carli Woolsey earned a spot on the Academic All-Region squad.
 

Playing Career

Thomas earned three letters at Midwestern State from 2016-18 and earned third team All-LSC honors in 2016 and 2018. The backstop hit .275 in her 136 game career with nine home runs and 58 RBI while throwing out 18 runners.

A native of Marble Falls, Texas, Thomas earned her bachelor's degree in Sports & Leisure in 2018 before completing her master's degree in 2019.
