SILVER CITY, N.M. - No. 15 Midwestern State clinched the No. 1 seed for the Lone Star Conference Tournament after finishing with an undefeated conference slate following a 9-0 sweep over Western New Mexico Saturday morning at the WNMU Tennis Courts.

Midwestern State (19-4, 5-0 LSC) claimed all three doubles points starting with sophomore Greta Lazzarotto and freshman Ashley Ramirez's 14th-straight win with an 8-3 score over Nadia Justiniano and Emma Siboni at No. 3 just before junior Daria Panferova and sophomore Eirini Kontaki took care of Jeanne Kolb and Tiffany Newell on court two with an 8-1 victory. At No. 1 doubles, sophomore Maddy Coffman and freshman Bianca Duff completed the sweep with an 8-4 win over Gemma Goodland and Anneley Heinze.

The Mustangs made quick work of singles winning five out of the six matches in straight sets. At No. 1 Panferova handed Newell a 6-3, 6-0 loss just before Coffman clinched the match for Midwestern with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Goodland on court three for her team-best 19th win of the season.

Midwestern finished off the win over Western New Mexico (3-17, 0-5 LSC)  with victories from Lazzarotto, Ramirez, Kontaki, and Anna Claire Gerletti.

The Mustangs are back in action Tuesday in Durant, Okla. as they take on No. 41 Southeastern Oklahoma at the Southeastern Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
