ARLINGTON, Texas – Top seed Midwestern State punched its fifth-straight ticket to the Lone Star Conference Championship Friday evening with a 5-0 blanking of Texas A&M-Kingsville in its semifinal match at the Arlington Tennis Center.

With the win, Midwestern State (20-4) secured its sixth 20-win season in program history and first since a 23-4 campaign in 2014.

In doubles, the duo of Greta Lazzarotto and Ashley Ramirez pushed their win streak to 15 matches with a dominant 8-0 victory at No. 3. Bianca Duff and Maddy Coffman followed on court one with an 8-3 victory before Daria Panferova and Eirini Kontaki completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win at No. 2.

Kontaki posted her second win of the day with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 singles over Victoria Romanovskaia to stretch the MSU lead to 4-0 early in singles play.

With Texas A&M-Kingsville (13-10) taking the first set on two courts and leading in the second set on another, Duff put an end to an attempt at a rally with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Valerie Ruiz at No. 3 to clinch the match.

Midwestern State will square off against No. 3 seed Tarleton State in the LSC title match tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Arlington Tennis Center. The TexAnns took down No. 2 Cameron, 5-4, in the semifinals.
