ABILENE, Texas – Less than 24 hours after a tough loss to rival Cameron, No. 21 Midwestern State returned to the courts to take on its former conference rival in Division I Abilene Christian with the Wildcats recording a 7-0 sweep Wednesday evening at the Eager Tennis Center.

The Wildcats recorded wins on all three doubles courts to take the doubles point with the duo of Nico Agritelley and Henry Adams clinching a 1-0 lead for Abilene Christian (15-9) with a 6-3 win over Ramon Toyos and Dillon Pineda at No. 1.

Agritelley stretched the ACU advantage to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Dylan Hall at No. 3 singles before Sebastian Langdon recorded a 6-1, 6-1 result over Denney Norrie on court six.

At No. 5 singles, Hunter Holman posted the clincher for the Wildcats with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Chris Norrie, snapping the senior's six-match win streak.

Midwestern State (12-8) would go down in straight sets on the three remaining courts with ACU recording its first sweep over the Mustangs since 2008.

The Mustangs continue their road swing with Lone Star Conference matches against UT Permian Basin and No. 26 Western New Mexico this weekend. Midwestern squares off against UTPB in a 9:30 a.m. matchup Friday at the Bush Tennis Center in Midland before taking on WNMU at 9 a.m. (CST) Saturday at the WNMU Tennis Courts in Silver City, N.M.
