WICHITA FALLS, Texas – In a rematch of the 2016 NCAA Division II Quarterfinal, 15th-ranked Midwestern State turned the tables on No. 20 Ferris State this time around as the Mustangs avenged a season-ending loss from a year ago with a 7-2 rout of the Bulldogs Tuesday at the MSU Tennis Center.

The Mustangs posted three 8-4 victories in doubles play to carry the momentum early in the match.

Freshman Angel Palacios continued his strong play in singles with his sixth-straight victory following a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win over the Midwest Region's No. 11 Vasil Surduk on court two to stretch the MSU lead to 4-0. Palacios improved to 6-1 on the season and remains undefeated against Division II competition with four wins over regionally-ranked opponents.
