VALDOSTA, Ga. – No. 5 Valdosta State (Ga.) carried its momentum following a huge win over 3rd-ranked Armstrong State (Ga.) to post a 9-0 sweep against No. 15 Midwestern State Wednesday at the VSU Tennis Courts.

With three nationally-ranked singles players in the lineup, the Blazers recorded four straight-set singles wins over Midwestern State (4-4) en route to the sweep.
Palacios battled No. 33 Xavier Pineda to three sets on court two before falling 2-6, 6-2, 7-5, while Pineda dropped his match in a super tiebreaker to Valentin Mounoto at No. 6 singles, 1-6, 7-5, 10-4.
No. 3 Leo Blay posted a tight 6-3, 7-5 win over 5th-ranked Toyos at the top position while No. 20 Rivas prevailed over Hall on court four, 7-5, 7-5, to clinch the win for the Blazers.
The Mustangs face NJCAA Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) in a neutral site match tomorrow at noon (CST) at the VSU Tennis Courts.
