SHAWNEE, Okla. - The 15th-ranked Midwestern State women's tennis team claimed wins in both matches of their Saturday doubleheader at the Oklahoma Baptist Tennis Courts.

The Mustangs (10-3) started the day handing No. 18 Oklahoma Baptist a 7-2 loss to snap OBU's 13-match win streak. In doubles, sophomore Greta Lazzarotto and freshman Ashley Ramirez were first off the court with an 8-1 win over Alex Bowers and Caroline Abbe at No. 3 while juniors Amy Clifton and Daria Panferova recorded an 8-4 victory over Madeline Boepple and Olivia Charvat at No. 2. In the one spot, sophomore Maddy Coffman and freshman Bianca Duff knocked off the 12th-ranked duo of Rouxanne Janse Van Rensberg and Kim Moosbacher, 8-6.

In singles play, Coffman recorded Midwestern's fourth point with a 7-6, 6-0 win at No. 4 over Boepple before sophomore Eirini Kontaki clinched the match with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Charvat on court two.

The Bison (14-2) put two points on the board as No. 36 Janse Van Rensburg defeated Panferova at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 6-3, and Moosbacher extended her winning streak to 14 with a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 score over Duff at No. 3.

The Mustangs wrapped up singles play with a 6-1, 6-4 win by Ramirez over Alex Morales on court six while Lazzarotto ended Bowers' 13-match win streak with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at five singles.

The Mustangs ended the day cruising to an 8-1 win over Newman (4-11) behind Coffman and Duff's 8-2 win over Janneke de Rijk and Tamar Tskhakaia at number one doubles. Coffman and Duff remain undefeated on the season with a 13-0 record.

Midwestern completed the doubles sweep with Clifton and Panferova claiming an 8-2 result over Katerina Stoianova and Niamh Packer at No. 2 before Lazzarotto and Ramirez fought to a 9-7 victory over Emily Wise and Mariana Gavira on court three.

Coffman clinched the match for the Mustangs with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Packer at number four singles following Duff's 6-1, 6-0 victory over Stoianova at No. 3.

The Jets' lone point came at No. 2 singles with Tskhakaia handing Kontaki a 7-5, 6-2 loss.

The Mustangs return to the MSU Tennis Center Friday to take on regional opponent No. 42 St. Edward's at 3:30 p.m.
