PENSACOLA, Fla. – No. 9 West Florida pushed its win streak to six matches Friday afternoon with a 9-0 sweep over No. 15 Midwestern State at the Ralph Carson Tennis Complex.
The Argonauts (12-1) started the day with a 3-0 doubles sweep behind an 8-5 win by the nation's top tandem of Alex Peyrot and Pedro Dumont over senior Ramon Toyos and sophomore Dillon Pineda on court one.
West Florida put up their fourth point on court two with Gabriel Dias defeating freshman Angel Palacios, 6-4, 6-0.
Dumont clinched the win for West Florida with a 6-3, 6-4 win over junior Vasudev Vijayaraman at the number three singles spot.
Pineda managed to stretch his match on court six to three sets, but Sebastian Sanchez outlasted him in the tiebreaker, 5-7, 7-6, 10-7.
The Mustangs (5-5) are back in action Saturday at the Ralph Carson Tennis Complex with a 10:30 a.m. match against No. 11 Georgia College.
