VALDOSTA, Ga. – Midwestern State returned to its winning ways Thursday with a dominant 7-2 win over Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) at the Valdosta State Tennis Courts.

The Mustangs coasted to a 3-0 lead in the match after sweeping doubles play, dropping just two games in the process. The duo of Greta Lazzarotto and Ashley Ramirez posted an 8-0 win on court three to improve to 7-1 on the season while Bianca Duff and Maddy Coffman remained undefeated on the year with an 8-0 mark following an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. The No. 1 tandem of Daria Panferova and Amy Clifton also came away with an 8-1 victory in the sweep.

In singles, Eirini Kontaki recorded her fifth-straight win with a 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 3 to give Midwestern State (6-2) a 4-0 lead. Coffman followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court four to clinch the match for the Mustangs.

Abraham Baldwin (6-4), ranked No. 9 in the NJCAA, went on the board with Oriane Yehouenou earning a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Duff at No. 2 singles.

Panferova and Ramirez each tallied wins in super tiebreakers at No. 1 and 5 singles, respectively, while Mathilde Lirzin defeated Anna Claire Gerletti, 6-4, 6-4, on court six for a 7-2 final.

Midwestern State will face its second top-10 opponent of the season tomorrow with a 1 p.m. match against No. 7 West Florida at the Ralph Carson Tennis Complex in Pensacola, Fla.
