STEPHENVILLE, Texas – No. 15 Tarleton State capitalized on 10 service aces while holding Midwestern State to a .021 hitting percentage to earn a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon at Wisdom Gym.
Midwestern State (8-9, 3-6 LSC) took the first set from the TexAnns with a 25-22 victory behind
Rockelle Gholson's four kills and
Raven Presley's five blocks. Tarleton State (15-4, 7-1 LSC) committed 14 hitting errors in the opening frame as the Mustangs put together a 12-4 run to force a Tarleton timeout leading by five. The TexAnns answered every MSU spurt before grabbing a 22-21 advantage. However, the Mustangs closed out the set strong with an ace by
Addison Semer and a kill and block from Presley to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Tarleton State held all of the momentum in the second set with MSU committing 10 attacking errors while putting down just four kills in a 25-9 setback. With the game tied at 7-all, the TexAnns went on an 18-2 run with four aces during that span to even the match.
Adriana Darthuy put down six kills to lead the TexAnns to a 25-19 win in the third set.
Meghan Bettis paced the Mustangs offense with six kills and no errors for a .462 hitting percentage, but TSU inched ahead early in the set as the Mustangs were unable to pull closer than four down the stretch.
MSU was limited to just five kills while recording eight errors in the fourth set as Tarleton closed out the game on a 14-4 run to claim a 25-15 win and the match.

- Jordyn Keamo also posted a double-double with 30 assists and 13 digs while Adrianna Knutson tallied a team-high 21 digs
- The TexAnns also recorded 13 blocks with Amber Strange leading the way with seven stuffs
