Win streak snapped for @MustangsWSoccer in 3-0 setback at West Texas A&M

THE RUNDOWN
CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M erupted for a trio of second half goals in a 15-minute span to snap Midwestern State's four-match win streak in a 3-0 victory Friday night at The Pitch.
 
After a scoreless first half where the Mustangs were held without a shot, West Texas A&M's (5-2-4, 3-0-3 LSC) Jessica Diaz propelled the Lady Buffs to a 1-0 lead with a strike from the top of the box in the 62nd minute.
 
A failed clearance by Midwestern State (8-3, 3-2 LSC) in the 70th minute led to a goal by Noir Hawash to lift WT to a 2-0 advantage. The Lady Buffs capped off the scoring just six minutes later with Hannah Kelley delivering a shot into the back of the net for a 3-0 final.
 
Brandy Villasana recorded MSU's first shot on target of the night at the 52:18 mark as the Mustangs matched a season-low two shots on goal in six attempts.

- West Texas A&M moved to first in the Lone Star Conference standings Friday with a 3-0-3 record for 12 points
- Angelo State suffered its first conference loss in a 3-0 defeat at Texas A&M-Commerce to drop to second in the standings with 10 points, while MSU and TAMUC follow closely in third with nine points
- Midwestern State allowed an opponent high of 25 shots and 11 on goal Friday night
- Jessica Diaz placed five of her six shots on frame to lead WT
- Brandy Villasana and Hanna Mattinson recorded shots on goal for MSU
- Courtney Burnette matched a season-high eight saves in goal
