Box Score (PDF)

THE RUNDOWN
LAWTON, Okla. – Junior setter Kristan Aduddell and sophomore middle blocker Kiley Beaver put together a pair of career-best performances to lead Midwestern State to a 3-0 sweep (29-27, 25-22, 25-19) of Cameron for its first win inside Aggie Gym since 2013.

In the opening set, Cameron (2-9, 0-3 LSC) built a four-point lead on the Mustangs out of the gate before the visitors pulled even with back-to-back kills from junior outside hitter Meghan Bettis followed by a Beaver kill to knot the set at 10. The Aggies extended their lead back out midway through the frame, taking as much as a five-point advantage. A kill for junior middle blocker Addison Semer followed by a pair of aces for freshman outside hitter Erin Richburg inched Midwestern State (6-5, 2-1 LSC) to within two at 19-17 before Cameron stretched its lead back out by taking set point at 24-20.

However, Beaver put down three of her eight kills in the set to help MSU fend off four-straight set points for the Aggies. CU added two more set points before the Mustangs took control of the set late with kills from Richburg and junior right side hitter Sarah Garfield to record a 29-27 first set win.

Garfield paced the Mustangs offense in set two, hitting .875 with seven kills. Midwestern built a slight lead early on in the frame before stretching it out to five following a CU attack error for a 17-12 advantage. The Aggies pulled within two points on two different occasions but the Mustangs responded each time with Garfield and Semer putting down kills to give MSU a 25-22 win in the second set.

Richburg led the Mustangs to a match-best .325 hitting percentage in set three with six kills on seven attempts. An early 4-0 Midwestern run set the stage for the Mustangs in the third set, stretching the lead to as many as six points following a service ace for sophomore setter Christy Carruth to make it 16-10. Cameron was only able to pull back within four points down the stretch as a Beaver kill gave the Mustangs the sweep with a 25-19 victory.
