WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 20 Midwestern State cruised to its 10th win of the season Thursday afternoon as the Mustangs blanked NAIA Texas Wesleyan, 9-0, at the MSU Tennis Center.

Midwestern State improved to 10-4 overall and 3-1 at home this season with Thursday's sweep.

Senior Maddie Schorlemmer and freshman Greta Lazzarotto earned the first point of the day for the Mustangs, improving to 12-2 on the season with an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. Senior Lauren Pineda and sophomore Amy Clifton added to the MSU lead just moments later with their 8-2 win at No. 2 to move to 13-1 in dual play. The 23rd-ranked pair of senior Lindsay Nochowicz and freshman Eirini Kontaki capped off the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win over Katy Foster and Emily Murchland on court one to snap the duo's 10-match win streak.

Midwestern displayed its dominance in singles with Pineda quickly recording a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 position to collect her 10th win of the season with a 10-2 dual record. Junior Abby White followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 to clinch the match for the Mustangs, pushing her second record to 8-2.

Lazzarotto tallied a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles for her ninth win of the season before Nochowicz earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 to improve to 7-1 on the year.

Schorlemmer and Kontaki concluded the match for the Mustangs at the top two positions with 27th-ranked Schorlemmer downing Murchland at No. 1, 6-2, 6-0, before Kontaki ended the match with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Foster.

Midwestern State returns to action Saturday with a pair of matches at the Arlington Tennis Center. The Mustangs will square off against No. 12 St. Mary's in a top-20 battle at 8 a.m. before taking on No. 47 Dallas Baptist at 2 p.m.
