PUEBLO, Colo. – The 20th-ranked Midwestern State women's tennis team coasted to a 9-0 blanking of in-region foe Colorado State-Pueblo Friday afternoon at the Pueblo City Park Tennis Complex.

Midwestern State (9-3) quickly grabbed a 2-0 advantage in doubles play with senior Maddie Schorlemmer and freshman Greta Lazzarotto earning an 8-0 decision at No. 3 before senior Lauren Pineda and sophomore Amy Clifton added an 8-1 victory on court two. The 23rd-ranked duo of senior Lindsay Nochowicz and freshman Eirini Kontaki capped off the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win at the top position.

Kontaki and Pineda helped the Mustangs clinch the match over Colorado State-Pueblo (2-13) with straight-set wins on courts two and four, respectively. Junior Abby White, 27th-ranked Schorlemmer and Lazzarotto also added straight-set wins before sophomore Alexis Arrieta pulled out a super tiebreaker win at No. 5 to complete the 9-0 sweep.

Midwestern State will take on NCAA Division I Air Force at 10 a.m. (CT) at the Air Force Tennis Courts in Colorado Springs, Colo. Live scoring and video is available at this link.
