DENVER – No. 12 Midwestern State snapped a three-match losing skid Tuesday evening with a 9-0 road sweep over Metro State at the Regency Athletic Complex.
It didn't take long for Midwestern State (7-4) to get on the board as the 20th-ranked doubles team of senior
Kyle Davidson and junior
Ramon Toyos claimed an 8-1 win at the top position to get the Mustangs going. Junior

Radu Popa added an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles before senior
Zack Santagate and freshman
Dillon Pineda pulled out a 9-8 (5) win on court two for the sweep.
Norrie clinched the match for the Mustangs at No. 3 singles after 27th-ranked Davidson earned a straight-set win on court one.
The Mustangs allowed Metro State (5-9) to walk away with just one set win in singles action with Popa dropping a 7-5 decision in the first set before rallying for a 5-7, 7-6 (3), 10-1 super tiebreaker victory over Marty Lukosiunas. Toyos, Pineda and freshman

Midwestern State concludes its Colorado road trip Friday with a doubleheader against in-region foe Colorado State-Pueblo and NCAA Division III Colorado College beginning at 12:30 p.m. (CT) at the Pueblo City Park Tennis Complex.
