SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Midwestern State rallied for a deficit in doubles play to claim wins in four singles matches to come away with a 5-4 win over 11th-ranked Drury Saturday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
It was the third straight win for the Mustangs, who improve to 6-2 on the season.
MSU plays host to Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) Sunday at the MSU Tennis Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
Midwestern salvaged one doubles' match as
Tomas Grejtak and
Ramon Toyos teamed for an 8-4 win over Sebastian Amato and Christian Ibsen at No. 2 to close the margin to 2-1.
The Mustangs put away three of the four singles' matches in straight sets as
Kyle Davidson beat Amato 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, Toyos rolled Jakub Sipos 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 and
Chris Norrie upended Sacha Mourier 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5.
Senior
Kacper Boborykin clinched the match for MSU with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 comeback win over Maximilian Hepp at No. 1.
Drury suffered its first loss of the season falling to 7-1.
