SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — No. 15 Midwestern State rolled to a 6-3 win over Southwest Baptist (Mo.) Friday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs won their second straight match to improve to 5-2 on the season, while SBU dropped to 2-2.
The Mustangs battled to take a 2-1 lead out of doubles headlined by a 9-7 win by 17th-ranked
Kyle Davidson and
Zack Santagate over Kristof Kinal and Sherif Abohabaga at the No 1 position while
Tomas Grejtak and
Ramon Toyos claimed an 8-2 win over Yannick Doering and Brad Cicek at the No. 3 position.
The Mustangs put away the match by claiming victory at the bottom four singles' spots as Toyos outlasted SBU's Torben Semrau 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 at No. 3, sophomore
Keegan Sullivan beat Doering 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4, sophomore
Chris Norrie defeated Alex Belote 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 and Tyer rolled past Cicek 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
Midwestern takes on Drury (Mo.) Saturday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. First serve is set for noon.
