Kayla Casey scored a 4-6, 6-4, 12-10 win over No. 4-ranked Monika Kochanova, but it wasn't enough to spur the Mustangs on to victory Tuesday afternoon at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
The 7th-ranked Argonauts swept doubles play on the way to a 7-2 win to drop MSU to 5-4 on the season.
Midwestern takes on No. 26-ranked Georgia College Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Pensacola.
Junior Madeline Schorlemmer claimed the Mustangs' other win in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 over Nina Bubelova at No. 3, while sophomore
Courtney Anderson and junior
Lindsay Nochowicz battled to close 6-4, 6-4 losses at Nos. 4-6.
Schorlemmer and sophomore
Paige Boykin also battled Kat Dikosavljevic and Francesca Fanchin to an 8-6 loss at No. 3 doubles.
West Florida improved to 8-2 on the season.
