SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- Cameron snapped a two-game skid by shocking 10th-ranked Angelo State 81-78 on Senior Night last Saturday at Aggie Gym to improve to 12-13 on the season.
- The Aggies have struggled on the road during LSC play going 1-5 with their lone victory coming at Eastern New Mexico -- 55-47.
- Senior guard Desmond Henry has erupted to score 20-or-more points in each of his last four games including matching season highs against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State the last two times out.
- Henry is shooting 27-of-53 from the floor (50.9 percent) from the floor and 36-of-46 (.783) from the charity stripe over the last four games while averaging 23.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
- Junior forward Jamaal Brantley logged his third 20-point effort of the season Saturday against Angelo State. He connected on 8-of-12 shots from the field go finish with 21 points and seven rebounds to raise his season averages to 11.7 points and 5.0 rebounds.
- Junior forward Deondre Ray hit on 5-of-8 shots from the field with two 3-pointers to finish with 18 points and five rebounds Saturday against Angelo State. It was his first double-digit effort since scoring 20 points against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Jan. 21.
- Ray leads the Aggies in scoring with 13.7 points per game.
- Nate Gamet sports a 23-28 mark (.451) in his second season at the helm of the Cameron men's basketball squad.
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Midwestern State meets Cameron for the 78th time on the hardwood Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- The Mustangs own a 44-23 edge in the series which dates back tot he 1968-69 season.
- MSU has won the last four meetings between the programs and 13 of the last 14 dating back to the 2006-07 season with Cameron's lone victory during the stretch coming by a 64-63 count on Jan. 23, 2013.

Derrell Gibbs combined for 11 of Midwestern State's season-high 13 3-pointers to lift the Mustangs to an 88-77 win over Cameron on Jan. 31 at Aggie Gym.
- McNeal knocked down six triples on his way to a game-high 26 points, while Gibbs knocked down five treys to pour in a career-high 21 points.

Xavier Blackburn finished with 12 points and six rebounds while going 8-of-9 from the charity stripe.

Kevin Wagner chipped in a solid all-around effort with six points, seven assists and four rebounds.

MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State clinched its seventh consecutive 20-win season with a 76-53 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- The Mustangs can clinch the No. 3 seed in the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament with a win over Cameron on Saturday or one by Texas A&M-Commerce to either Angelo State or Tarleton State this week.
- MSU would face either Cameron or Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2:30 p.m. next Thursday at the Allen Event Center in the LSC Postseason Tournament quarterfinals.
- Cameron clinches the No. 6 seed with a win over MSU or if Texas A&M-Kingsville loses to Angelo State.
- If TAMUK defeats Angelo State and MSU beats Cameron, the No. 6 seed comes down to a coin flip as TAMUK and CU split the season series, both swept ENMU and both would have a win over Angelo State.

Alston connected on each of his five shots from the field and was a pefect 5-for-5 at the free throw line to finish with a game-high 15 points Saturday against Texas A&M-Kingsville after going for 12 points and eight rebounds Wednesday at Angelo State.

Thad Rideau (Port Arthur, Texas / East Ascension HS (UAB)) knocked down 3-of-6 shots including a pair of 3-pointers to finish with 10 points and four rebounds in 16 minutes Saturday against Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Hershell Grant (Washington, D.C. / Roosevelt HS (Clarendon College)) has scored in double figures in each of his last three games since being re-inserted into the starting lineup.
- Senior guard
Kevin Wagner (Lubbock, Texas / Estacado HS (McLennan CC)) enjoyed a solid all-around game with eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists in 26 minutes Saturday against Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Nelson Haggerty is in his fourth season at the helm for Midwestern State as one of the top young coaches in college basketball.
- Haggerty boasts a 95-28 mark (.772) leading the Mustangs to Lone Star Conference championships in each of his three seasons as head coach.
- Haggerty earned NABC South Central Region and Lone Star Conference coach of the year honors in his rookie season of 2011-12 piloting the Mustangs to their third consecutive Elite Eight showing.
- With Haggerty on the bench (including two seasons as top assistant), MSU has advanced to three Elite Eights (2010, 2011, 2012) and to the NCAA Division II postseason five consecutive years.
DOME MAGIC
- Midwestern State boasts a 553-130 all time mark (.810) in the 46-year history of D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- MSU won 70 consecutive games under the dome from Jan. 5, 1973 to Jan. 24, 1977 then peeled off 41 straight victories from Nov. 18, 2008 to Feb. 16, 2011.
