DALLAS -- Midwestern State's Madeline Schorlemmer and 
Taylor Coffman took straight set wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions to pull the Mustangs even with Division I SMU Sunday afternoon at the SMU Tennis Complex.
 
But Southern Methodist rolled to wins at the final three singles' positions to come away with a 5-2 victory to improve to 4-0 on the season.
 
Midwestern State (1-1) takes on Incarnate Word Friday afternoon in San Antonio. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
 
SMU swept through doubles to take a 1-0 lead in the match as doubles counts as a single point in Division I play.
 
SMU's Hristina Dishkova and Holly Verner defeated 
Courtney Anderson and 
Lauren Pineda 6-1 at No. 2 doubles before Anna Kate Anderson and Mary Wright beat MSU's 
Paige Boykin and Schorlemmer 6-3 at No. 3.
 
Southern Methodist completed the sweep at No. 1 doubles as Vaszilisza Bulgakova and Dasha Sharapova upended 
Kayla Casey and 
Taylor Coffman, 6-4.
 
Bulgakova extended SMU's lead to 2-1 coming off the singles' court first with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Midwestern State's 
Lindsay Nochowicz 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4.
 
Midwestern evened the match with Coffman coming away with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Sharapova at No. 3 while Schorlemmer claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Anderson at No. 2 to make it 2-all.
 
Dishkova pulled SMU to within a point of clinching battling MSU's 
Kayla Casey to a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 position with the final two matches still in question.
 
Midwestern State freshman 
Carrie Casey was on the brink of forcing split sets against Verner at No. 6 after dropping the first set 6-0, but Verner survived the scare to clinch the match for SMU by taking the second set in a tiebreaker at 7-3.
 
MSU sophomore 
Paige Boykin bounced back to force Wright into split sets before falling 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
