FORT SMITH, Ark. – Arkansas-Fort Smith knocked down 14 three-pointers and turned 29 Midwestern State turnovers into 40 points in a 100-58 victory over the Mustangs Saturday afternoon at the Stubblefield Center.

Kathryn Odom snapped the Lady Lions opening run, but UAFS just continued to stretch its lead even further with an 8-0 spurt to take a 20-2 edge following a three-pointer from sophomore guard Olivia Hanson.
The Lady Lions doubled up Midwestern State (1-6) at the half with a 56-28 advantage after shooting 53.7 percent (22-of-41) with nine triples and scoring 24 points off 15 MSU turnovers in the first 20 minutes of action.

Jacquar Westbrooks, who finished with 12 points and five boards in 21 minutes of play.
However, Midwestern would not pull any closer in the fourth with UAFS tallying 29 points in the period to record the 100-58 win.

UAFS shot 54.4 percent (37-of-68) from the field and was led by junior guard Sydney Franklin, who finished with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting with five assists and five steals.
Midwestern finished with a 35.6 shooting percentage (21-of-59) and out-rebounded the Lady Lions 42-33 with 14 offensive boards.
Midwestern State continues its road swing Thursday with a 6 p.m. tipoff against No. 18 Lubbock Christian at the Rip Griffin Center.
