STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The 18th-ranked Midwestern State Mustangs snared their sixth straight win on Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 triumph over 28th-ranked Tarleton State.
The Mustangs (15-3) lead the Lone Star Conference with a 2-0 record, while Tarleton (11-4) falls to 0-2 in the league standings with the win over the TexAnns in the first match on the new courts at Tarleton's Potishman-Lard Tennis Complex.
MSU never trailed Tarleton, sweeping all three doubles points before claiming all but one of the singles points.

Lauren Pineda continued with an 8-3 win at No. 2 against Ivana Zecevic/Makenzie Mitchell, while

Paige Boykin took an 8-2 win at No. 3 against Melanie Barnes/Silvia Nieva.
In singles action, Anderson quickly won at No. 4 over Adas 6-0, 6-1 and Coffman clinched the win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Barnes at No. 3.
Pineda added a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 against Mariana Rull, with Boykin taking a 6-4, 6-3 decision against Nieva at No. 6.
The Mustangs split the featured singles matches.
Clifton got the upset in three sets over Perez, ranked 31st in Division II, with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win.
In the battle of nationally ranked singles players at No. 2, 41st ranked Zecevic edged the Mustangs 33rd ranked Casey 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Midwestern State steps out of South Central Region play this weekend when the Mustangs visit Springfield, Mo., to meet No. 21 Drury at home on Friday and take on Northwest Missouri State in a neutral site affair on Saturday.
