WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The 18th-ranked Midwestern State Mustangs won their fifth straight as they downed the NJCAA's top ranked team, Tyler Junior College, 6-3 at the MSU Tennis Center.
The Mustangs (14-3) grabbed an early lead and never looked back in handing TJC (15-5) its fifth loss to an NCAA Division I or II team.
MSU collected two of the three doubles points as

Amy Clifton won at No. 2 against the NJCAA's sixth ranked Kylie Reynaud/Paige Murdock 8-6, and
Courtney Anderson/
Paige Boykin took No. 3 with an 8-5 win against Kerry Wiegand/Ashleigh DeWet.
TJC claimed No. 1 doubles as the NJCAA's top-ranked duo of Fausthyara Pietersz/Joanna Savva defeated 20th ranked
Kayla Casey/
Taylor Coffman 8-6.
In singles action, the Mustangs took four of the six points, led by 33rd ranked Casey who beat Savva, ranked fifth in the NJCAA, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2.
MSU's Anderson won at No. 4 over DeWet 6-4, 6-1, with Pineda winning No. 5 against Reynaud 6-2, 6-3 and Boykin taking No. 6 in three sets against Murdock 5-7, 6-4, 10-5.
TJC's Pietersz, ranked second in the NJCAA, beat Clifton 6-1, 6-3 at No.1, while Nicki Johnson beat Coffman in three sets at No. 3, 4-6, 6-0, 6-1.
The MSU women are idle until next Tuesday when they visit Stephenville for a Lone Star Conference match against 28th ranked Tarleton State.
