No. 18 Mustangs down No. 27 St. Mary's 6-3

ARLINGTON, Texas – After trailing 2-1 following doubles, the 18th-ranked Midwestern State Mustangs roared through singles play to beat 27th ranked St. Mary's 6-3 Saturday morning at the Arlington Tennis Center.
 
Midwestern (11-5) picked up its fourth straight win, while the Rattlers (8-7) saw a brief two-game win streak end.
 
The Mustangs used a solid sweep in No. 3-6 to have the match won before 30th ranked Kacper Boborykin beat St. Mary's Phillipp Raickovic 6-7(4-7), 6-4, 10-4 at No. 1.
 
Ramon Toyos started the wave at No. 3, easily defeating Bob Resink 6-0, 6-1, while Chris Norrie took No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Matt Banner.
 
Jarrod Liston claimed the No. 5 spot with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Carlos Olea, and Tomas Grejtak put away Brien Galon at No. 6, 6-2, 6-1.
 
The only singles point lost was at No. 2 where 48th ranked Michael Maciel beat 34th ranked Kyle Davidson 6-3, 7-5.
 
The Rattlers opened the day strong grabbing two of the three points in doubles.  Only the Mustangs No. 3 duo of Liston/Zack Santagate was a winner, beating Resink/Galon 8-6.
 
At No.1, Raickovic/Banner upset MSU's eighth ranked duo of Grejtak/Toyos 9-8 (7-5), and Maciel/Jared Fellows beat Boborykin/Davidson 8-5 at No. 2.
 
After sweeping their four matches in four days series, the Mustangs have a couple of days off before facing Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday.  First serve is 2 p.m. at the MSU Tennis Center.
