LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The 19th-ranked Midwestern State Mustangs outlasted 14th ranked Fresno Pacific 5-4 to collect their ninth win of the season on Wednesday at the Darling Tennis Center.

Kayla Casey, ranked 38th nationally, provided the deciding point with her win at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 over FPU's Alison Carre.
The point was one of the four singles points MSU (9-1) collected after falling behind 2-1 after doubles to FPU (4-9).

Sydney Briner collected MSU's only point in the tandems as they beat Matilda Ackered/Erin Carlson 8-3.

Taylor Coffman were edged by 14th ranked Petra Jurova/Angelica Soblecka in a tie break 9-8 (7-5), while the Mustangs No. 2 team of
Amy Clifton/
Courtney Anderson fell to Carre/Laure-Anne Josso 8-6.
But the Mustangs turned the table in singles by claiming the No. 5 and No. 6 points with ease as Anderson downed Ackered 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5, and
Paige Boykin beat Megan Lee 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
Coffman, playing No. 3, won a three-setter against Soblecka 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, joining Casey in winning the two three-set affairs.
FPU claimed the No. 1 position as Jurova beat Clifton 6-1, 6-2, and took No. 4 as Josso defeated Pineda 6-3, 6-4.
The loss was the fourth straight for Fresno Pacific.
MSU concludes their Spring Break trip to Las Vegas on Thursday morning when they take on top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic.
