LAS VEGAS -- No. 19-ranked Midwestern State suffered its first setback of the season in a hard-fought 6-3 loss to No. 4 Hawaii Pacific Tuesday afternoon at the Darling Tennis Center.
The Mustangs, who fell to 8-1 on the season, take on No. 14 Fresno Pacific (Calif.) Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. before closing the week against top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic (Ga.) on Thursday.

Sydney Briner combined to beat HPU's Vivian Hansen and Lea Kruse-Utermann 8-4 at No. 3 doubles, while junior 
Taylor Coffman and freshman 
Courtney Anderson battle to take split-set singles' victories.
Coffman, a Houston native, claimed a 7-6, 5-7, 10-6 win over Hansen at the No. 4 position to claim her eighth consecutive singles victory.
Anderson, a Cypress product, rallied to take a 4-6, 6-1, 11-9 decision from Kruse-Utermann at the No. 5 spot to improve to 9-0 on the season in singles play.
Hawaii Pacific improved to 12-1 on the season.
