ABOUT THE MUSTANGS OFFENSE
- Midwestern State rebounded from consecutive midseason losses to Angelo State and West Texas A&M to win its last two games -- McMurry (71-13) and Texas A&M-Commerce (40-37 in OT).
- The Mustangs have been nothing short of consistent on offense rolling up at least 426 yards in all seven games this season going over the 500-yard barrier three times.

- The ground attack has come over the last three weeks as the Mustangs averaged 338 rushing yards a game despite being without leading running back Dante Taylor (Plano, Texas / Plano East SH) for the last 2 1/2 games. Taylor led the conference rushing for 115.8 yards per game through the first five contests.
-  MSU produced a 100-yard rusher in each of its last five games with Taylor going for 105 yards against Tarleton State and 159 yards in consecutive weeks against Angelo State and West Texas A&M. Freshman quarterback Hagen Hutchinson (Stamford, Texas / Stamford HS) rushed for 106 yards against McMurry, while senior running back Chauncey Harris (San Antonio, Texas / Judson HS) ran for 169 yards and three touchdowns last week against Texas A&M-Commerce.

A LOOK BACK
- Midwestern State overcame a 17-point deficit with 10 minutes to play to take a 40-37 win in overtime last week against 22nd-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce.

- Junior linebacker Daniel Laudermilk (Austin, Texas / Austin HS) led the defense with 13 tackles including two for loss, on sack and a forced fumble.

THE PLAYOFF SCENARIO
- With a win, Midwestern State heads into the playoffs as either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed. If Tarleton State beats Angelo State, the Mustangs play host to Tarleton next Saturday at Memorial Stadium. If Angelo State beats Tarleton State, the Mustangs play the Rams next week in San Angelo as the No. 3 seed. This is assuming Texas A&M-Commerce defeats McMurry Saturday in Commerce.
- With a loss and if Tarleton State defeats Angelo State, the Mustangs head to Texas A&M-Commerce next week as the No. 4 seed. Once again, assuming A&M-C beats McMurry.
- With a loss and if Angelo State defeats Tarleton State, the Mustangs play the Rams Saturday in San Angelo as the No. 3 seed. Again, assuming A&M-C also beats McMurry.
- The Mustangs can claim the No. 1 seed with a win, an A&M-Commerce loss to McMurry and if Tarleton State defeats Angelo State. In that case, MSU hosts Angelo State Saturday at Memorial Stadium and no matter the result would play another home game the following week.

MUSTANGS NOTABLES
- Bill Maskill earned his 100th win at Midwestern State last weekend against Texas A&M-Commerce to run his mark to 100-39 (.719) in 12 seasons.
