WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State takes on Texas-Permian Basin in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Mustangs Park.
 
The start times for the games have been moved up to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. due to the high probably of the formation of storms later in the afternoon.

STREAK: Midwestern has won five of their last six games after taking two of three from No. 7 Texas Woman's University last weekend at Mustangs Park.

WHO'S HOT? The Mustangs continue to lead NCAA Division II in team batting average at .368... MSU has connected on home runs in each of the last 13 games and have posted multiple long balls 18 times this season... Midwestern leads the Lone Star Conference with 57 home runs this season which is three shy of the program's all-time high of 60 set in 2011...  MSU boasts four of the top five hitters in the LSC this season including senior Elena Bennett (.523), freshman Katelyn Vinson (.505), sophomore Kelley Schaefer (.444) and junior Kim Jerrick (.435)... Jerrick drilled three homers last weekend and now has 15 bombs this season to match former teammate Mallory Mooney (2011) for the home runs in a single season in program history... Vinson has struck for 10 homers in her last 39 at bats dating back to March 23 against Angelo State. She is hitting .641 with a 1.462 slugging percentage while posting multiple hits in 11 of 13 games during the stretch... Vinson had her season-best 11-game hitting streak snapped when she was pitched around with Texas Woman's University leading by nine runs in the fourth inning Saturday at Mustangs Park... Vinson's 12 home runs this season are the most hit by a freshman in MSU history surpassing the 11 hit by Kim Jerrick in 2011... Four different MSU hitters boast hitting streaks of 10-or-more games this season including Kim Jerrick (17), Courtney Bingham (11), Katelyn Vinson (11) and Kelley Schaefer (11)... STREAK: Texas-Permian Basin dropped a seven-game skid by taking two of three from Oklahoma Christian last weekend in Odessa. The Falcons are 4-18 against Lone Star Conference opposition this season and are 2-20 in games played outside of the Midland/Odessa.

WHO'S HOT? Junior outfielder Taleas Marble is hitting .471 (8-for-17) during a season-best six-game hitting streak with a double and an RBI to raise her season average to .318. Marble has clubbed four homers and leads the Falcons with 16 RBIs. Junior outfielder Amber Gutierrez and senior infielder Leslianne Ericson led the team with six homers each. The Falcons hit .252 as a team while scoring 3.1 runs per game.
