TOPEKA, Kan. – No. 24 Midwestern State made it three straight with a 7-2 win Friday over No. 38 Washburn at the Washburn Tennis Complex.
Midwestern State (14-5) won it's eighth match in the last nine outings, while Washburn (7-5) fell for just the second time in the last 10 matches.
The Mustangs had a 2-1 lead after doubles over the Ichabods.

Kyle Davidson teaming with
Luke Joyce, MSU won at No. 1 against Arkadiusz Kozaczuk 8-5.
Kacper Boborykin and
Tomas Grejtak paired at No. 2 to beat Thilo Schlenker and Pascal Laucht 8-4. But at No. 3, MSU's
Austin Crawford and
Zack Santagate dropped an 8-5 decision to Chance Joost and Bobby Florence.
"Our guys did a great job of handling situations early in their matches," said MSU coach
Scott Linn. "We needed to make an adjustment on Friday and the doubles teams handled it well. Kyle (Davidson) did a super job and credit
Luke Joyce as he was excellent in leading during the match."
The Mustangs responded strongly in singles, taking all but one of the points.
Joyce, ranked 44th nationally, beat Kozaczuk 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1, while Davidson won at No. 2 over Schlenker 6-7, 6-4, 6-2.
Colby Meeks won at No. 3 over Laucht 6-0, 6-1, as Boborykin outlasted Fletcher at No. 4, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Crawford won at No. 6 against Joost 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 2-3 retired.
Florence gained the Ichabods lone singles point at No. 5 with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over
Franko Siljeg.
The Mustangs continue their swing against the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Saturday by taking on No. 39 Southwest Baptist at 11 a.m. in Boliver, Mo.
