#22 Midwestern to battle Cameron Tuesday night at Mustangs Park

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- No. 22 Midwestern State takes on Cameron in a Lone Star Conference contest Tuesday night at Mustangs Park. First pitch for the single game is set for 7 p.m.
 
The Mustangs (34-12, 11-7) ride a six-game winning streak into the game with wins of 10 of their last 11 games.
 
MSU is led by right fielder Katelyn Vinson who leads the Lone Star Conference with a .508 batting average. The freshman from Southlake collected hits in 16 of her last 17 games hitting .607 (34-of-56) with 13 homers and 37 RBIs over the stretch. She has amassed 16 homers while driving in 51 runs this season.
 
Vinson shares the team homer lead with junior catcher Kim Jerrick, who rides an 11-game hitting streak (.462, 4 HR, 18 RBIs) into Tuesday night's game against the Aggies. The junior from Belle Plaine is hitting .440 for the season with 48 RBIs.
 
Sophomore third baseman Kelley Schaefer adds to MSU's potent lineup with a .453 average with nine homers and a team-high 56 RBIs, while senior outfielder Courtney Bingham hits .397 with 20 doubles, four triples and three homers with 47 RBIs out of the No. 3 spot in the order.
 
Freshman Laci Belovsky leads the Mustangs in the circle with an LSC-high 20 wins while leading the league with five shutouts. Fellow frosh Kat Batey has won seven of her last eight decisions to move to 14-5 on the season.
 
The Mustangs top the LSC with a .370 batting average while slugging a program single season best 65 home runs.
 
Cameron (13-25, 6-12) suffered a three-game sweep at Abilene Christian last weekend after rolling off a season-long four-game winning streak with a victory over Tarleton State and three over Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
Freshman second baseman Spencer Ferrell paces the Aggies with a .407 average with seven doubles out of the leadoff spot, while sophomore Tara Martini (.398, 4 HR, 31 RBIs) is hitting .545 (18-of-33) with three doubles, a homer and nine RBIs during a current 10-game hitting streak.
 
Freshman Sonora Zukerman leads Cameron with nine homers while senior Leslie Martini has accounted for six homers and team-best 38 RBIs.
 
Junior Samantha Betts (9-11, 4.20 ERA) is the Aggies' top option in the circle.
 
Midwestern State owns a 23-12 edge in the series including wins in eight of the last 10 meetings between the programs dating back to the 2010 season.
