The Mustangs and 'Belles play a single game Friday at 7 p.m. before closing the set with a doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday.

STREAK: The Mustangs have lost their last three including two setbacks to No. 1-ranked West Texas A&M and another at No. 16 Central Oklahoma. MSU had won 10 consecutive games and 16 of 17 before falling into the skid.

WHO'S HOT? Simply put, Kelley Schaefer is en fuego. The sophomore third baseman from Waco Midway High is raking the ball at a .594 clip (19-of-32) during a current 11-game hitting streak with six home runs and 28 RBIs during the stretch. Junior leadoff hitter Kim Jerrick has reached base in each of her last 45 games. Senior outfielder Courtney Bingham has a hit in each of her last six games and in 16 of the last 17 dating back to Feb. 10. She is .483 with 11 doubles and two triples during the run.

IN THE CIRCLE... Freshman pitcher Laci Belovsky has taken consecutive losses after reeling off wins in 11 consecutive decisions from Feb. 10-March 16. The Grangerland product is 13-4 with a 2.95 ERA. Fellow frosh Kat Batey has allowed 21 earned runs over her last 15 1/3 innings since hurling a perfect game against Oklahoma Panhandle State on March 3. She is 7-3 with a 6.24 ERA this season.

STREAK: The 'Belles have won seven of their last nine games, but snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over St. Edward's (Texas) Tuesday afternoon at the ASU Softball Complex. Angelo State had dropped consecutive decisions to Eastern New Mexico (8-1) and St. Edward's (6-3).

WHO'S HOT? Junior outfielder Morgan Spearman is hitting .470 (8-of-17) during a current team-best five game hitting streak with a homer and seven RBIs to raise her season batting average to a team-high .414. She has stroked seven doubles and five homers while driving in 25 runs this season. Senior catcher Kacie Easley also tops the .400 mark at .403 with seven doubles five homers and 19 RBIs. The hard hitting 'Belles boast five other players hitting better than .300 including sophomore infielder Rachel Moore (.386, 4 HR, 19 RBI), senior outfielder Lauren Smith (.386, 11 2B, 1 HR, 29 RBI, 6 SB), freshman outfielder Maddy McGarity (.351, 3 2B, 8 SB), freshman infielder Lanie Robinson (.338, 5 2B, 10 RBI) and freshman infielder Darian Dunn (.309, 3 HR, 15 RBIs).
