WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Midwestern State Mustangs were shutout Wednesday as the 19th ranked Rollins Tars handed them a 9-0 loss at the Martin Tennis Complex.
The 40th ranked Mustangs (6-3) stretched the Tars (8-2) into three sets in four of the singles matches, but Rollins came out on top in each.
Elisa DeCampli downed MSU's
Taylor Coffman 6-7 (6-10), 6-2, 10-5 at No. 1, while Lisa Loft defeated
Kayla Casey 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 2. At No. 4, Mariana Salvador edged Madeline Schorlemmer 6-3, 5-7, 10-6, and Emma Wookey beat
Kendra Casey 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.
Ashley Rosenberg took out
Sarita Adhikary 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, as Callie Whitlock beat
Lauren Pineda 6-1, 7-5.
In doubles action, Lisa and Ashley Loft of Rollins beat the Mustangs' No. 1 team of Coffman and Adhikary 8-2. DeCampli and Rosenberg defeated
Kayla Casey and Schorlemmer 8-6 at No. 2, while Carli Davis and Salvador beat MSU's No. 3 squad of Pineda and
Fatima Clementino 8-5.
MSU concludes the spring break trip Thursday at Florida Southern.
