AUSTIN -- Midwestern State struggled on the attack taking a 3-0 loss to St. Edward's in Hilltopper/Rattler Classic play Saturday at the SEU's Recreation and Convocation Center.
The Mustangs hit .119 as a team to all to 1-2 on the season allowing St. Edward's to improve to 2-1 with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-21.
MSU closes out tournament play against Southwestern Oklahoma State later this afternoon at the RCC. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
Junior middle blocker
Caitlin Wallace was the lone bright spot on the attack for the Mustangs finishing the match with nine kills and two total blocks while committing just three errors for a stellar .353 kill rate.
Sophomore middle blocker
Kasey Decker added seven kills and three total blocks while junior middle blocker
Michelle Blount had six kills and three blocks.
Junior setter/outside hitter
Courtney Haney notched her third consecutive double-double with 15 set assists and 10 digs while sophomore setter
Kristan Aduddell chipped in 14 set assists to go along with five digs.
Sophomore libero
Casey Fletcher paced back row efforts with 16 digs while senior
Taylor Parker added nine.
Mary Koehler powered down 10 kills to pace the St. Edward's attack.
