WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Oklahoma Christian, the No. 3 team in NAIA, handed the 34th ranked Midwestern State Mustangs a 9-0 loss Saturday at the MSU Tennis Center.
The Mustangs (7-10) faced nationally ranked opponents in all but two positions against the Eagles (11-3).
The Eagles, with four top 30 singles players and a fifth in the top 50, claimed all six singles points.
Luke Joyce led MSU at the top of the order at No. 1, falling to NAIA No. 2 Bruno Tiberti 6-3, 7-5.
The Mustangs also played close at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, as
Mario Urban fell to NAIA No. Martin Poberil 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 and
Jarrod Liston lost 7-5, 6-3 to No. 27 Renardy Guelfy 7-5, 6-3.

Scott Linn. "We got strong starts by Urban and Liston as well, but couldn't keep it going."
Colby Meeks lost at No. 3 to 20th ranked Jaime Canamares 6-3, 6-1, while
Tomas Grejtak lost at No. 4 to 50th ranked Pier Pieracciani 6-2, 6-3.
Kacper Boborykin also lost at No. 6 to Julio Pulido 6-0, 6-3.
On the double side, Meeks and Urban gave the NAIA's 11th ranked doubles pair a scare before Pieracciani and Nicolas Auruccio won 8-6 at No. 2. Liston and Grejtak fell to fifth ranked Tiberti and Poberil 8-2 at No. 1, with Joyce and Boborykin fell at No. 3 to Canamares and Guelfy 8-5.
MSU is in action again on Tuesday at the MSU Tennis Center, when the Mustangs face No. 22 Cameron in Lone Star Conference action. The men hit the courts at 3 p.m., following the women's match at noon.
