LUBBOCK, Texas - Christina Roosmalen provided Midwestern State's only offense in a 10-2 loss to Division I Texas Tech Tuesday night at Rocky Johnson Field.

The junior first baseman from Plano hammered a first-pitch fastball over the center field fence for a two-run blast to break up the Red Raiders' no-hit bid in the fifth inning. It was her third home run of the season.

Nicki Duff added an infield single in the sixth inning to account for the Mustangs' lone safeties of the contest as the Mustangs slipped to 14-18 on the season.

Midwestern State returns to Lone Star Conference play with a three-game series at Texas Woman's University beginning with a single game Friday at Pioneer Field. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. The teams wrap up the series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Texas Tech extended its winning streak to 10 games by walloping six home runs including four off of MSU starter
Lindsi Glenn who took the loss to fall to 12-9 on the season. Glenn surrendered seven runs - three earned - on eight hits with one strikeout and two walks over four innings.

The Red Raiders (27-7) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on back-to-back homers by Raven Richardson and Melisa Ryba.

Adriana Perez extended the lead to 3-0 with a leadoff homer to right field in the third inning then highlighted four-run TTU fourth with a three-run blast to left field to push the advantage to 7-0.

Former Henrietta High School standout Taylor Powell added a solo shot in the sixth while Cydney Allen added another solo blast to cinch the run-rule win in the sixth.

Brenna Hennan came on to pitch the final inning allowing three runs on three hits with two walks.

Cara Custer hurled four hitless frames to earn the win for the Tech to improve to 15-5 on the season.

- Sophomore catcher Kim Jerrick's throwing error on a pickoff attempt in the second inning was her first since May 5, 2011 - a span of 45 games.
- Jerrick drew a two-walk in the fourth inning to extend her reached base streak to a team-high 12 games.
- Junior first baseman Christina Roosmalen extended her current team-high hitting streak to five games with third home run of the season in the fifth inning.
