KINGSVILLE, Texas - Midwestern State spread out the attack as five players tallied at least 10 kills Saturday afternoon against Texas A&M-Kingsville at Steinke Center.
But it wasn't enough to stave off the Javelinas who came away with a 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-19, 15-11 Lone Star Conference victory.
The Mustangs, who have now lost three-straight, fell to 6-4 on the season and 2-3 in league play.
MSU's middle blocker combination of
Caitlin Wallace (16 kills, 2 errors) and
Miranda Byrd (13 kills, 2 errors) combined for 29 kills while
Hillary White,
Katie Bertling and
Shelbi Stewart added 10 kills each.
It wasn't enough to offset a 20-kill effort by TAMUK's Kelsey Washington as the Javelinas and Mustangs managed matching .196 team attack percentages.
Junior setter Kimberly Jeffery finished with a season-high 32 assists, while senior libero
Kiara Jordan led back row efforts with 30 digs.
