SAN ANTONIO - Incarnate Word's Stephanie Bonura tallied 15 kills to lead the hot hitting Incarnate Word Cardinals to a 25-19, 17-25, 25-16, 25-19 win over Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference play Thursday night at McDermott Center.
The Mustangs dropped their second-straight match to fall to 6-3 on the season and 2-2 in league play, UIW improved to 5-6 and 2-3.
Midwestern concludes its South Texas swing Saturday afternoon at Texas A&M-Kingsville. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
The Mustangs struggled to a .096 team attack percentage while committing 32 errors after going for a season-high 36 miscues in Saturday's loss to Texas Woman's University.
MSU battled to pull within 19-18 in the opening set before committing three miscues in the closing moments to allow the Cardinals to pull away for a 25-19 to take a 1-0 lead.

Miranda Byrd helped the Mustangs right the ship in the second set by putting down five of her team-high 15 kills as the Mustangs hit .225 to come away with a 25-17 win to even the match at 1-1.
But MSU slouched to a .056 attack percentage the rest of the way as Incarnate Word put the match away.

Caitlin Wallace put down six kills despite being limited to 13 total attacks.
Byrd paced MSU at the net with four total blocks while freshman

Kimberly Jeffrey notched a double-double with 16 assists and 11 digs.
