WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The 21st-ranked Angelo State Rambelles drew first blood against the fifth ranked Midwestern State Mustangs and never trailed to force the if necessary game with a 7-4 win Sunday afternoon in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional One at Mustangs Park.
The Belles (45-13) scratched out a run in the top of the first inning when Morgan Spearman scored on Alix Dean's RBI single and never trailed in the game to hand the Mustangs (49-11) their first loss in the tournament.
ASU broke open the game in the sixth with four runs. After loading the bases, Spearman singled in Kacie Easley with one out to make the score 2-0. Then Chelsey Walters doubled down the left field line to clear the bases and grab a 5-0 advantage.

However, the Belles added two more in the top of the seventh before Mooney belted her 13th home run of the season for MSU in the bottom of the frame.
